TUNNEL ABSEILING
Tour the underground with no experience required

Tour duration: 1.5 hours
Min 2 persons/max 8 persons
Price per person: €50

This tour takes you on a tour of the 550-meter-long underground fortress from the Second World War and offers the opportunity to try abseiling – descending down a rope on a live rock.

The fort remained unfinished and is thus a unique combination of architecture created by both man and nature. And not only that. Until a few years ago, this building was forgotten and hidden, and it was only recently discovered, decorated and equipped for visitors.

The tour begins with an introduction to the abseiling technique and equipment, a horizontal exercise and a descent demonstration.

After you have equipped yourself and familiarized yourself with the equipment, you descend on the natural rock to the built high underground rooms. This is followed by a walk through the fort with special effects. As the facility is built on two levels, there is another abseil on the slope. Towards the end of the tour, a special audio-visual surprise awaits you that will take you back in time, and for the bravest, a challenge – turning off the headlamps and finding the exit in pitch darkness.

A van is waiting for you at the exit and will take you back to the place of departure.

WW2 & UNDERGROUND
Discovering history of military and battles

Tour duration: 3 hours
Min 2 persons/max 8 persons
Entrance to underground facilities
Price per person: €50

This tour takes you into the turbulent past of Rijeka, precisely at the locations where that past took place. A tour of historical sites is also a trip to nature, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city.

The focus of the tour is a series of underground and above-ground fortifications that were built in the 30s of the 20th century for the purpose of defending the then borders. The construction and location of the forts represent a masterpiece of military engineering of their era. At the same time, the road to them is equally interesting and historically important. We start and end it in the city center, drive along the Lujzijanska and Petrolejska roads, stop at historically important locations such as the Banska vrata and the Pašac bridge, and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the city.

The crown of the tour is a walk through the 1000 m long underground fortress Katarina B and the reconstruction of the Battle of Rijeka, the battle for the liberation of Rijeka in World War II. During the walk along the easy hiking trail, you will see the above-ground parts of several other forts and enjoy the view of the Rječina canyon and the Rijeka mills, which you can get to know better on the Cycling Around tour.

[ALMOST] DOWNTOWN CLIMBING
Try climbing and break the fear with no experience required

Duration: 3 hours
Min 2 persons/max 8 persons
Price per person: €45

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the nature museum and try rock climbing! With Adventurer you can do it without any previous experience and with the professional guidance of licensed guides.

The river in the immediate vicinity of the city offers several locations that are regular goals for climbers and organized climbing areas. Some directions are also suitable for beginner climbers, and all locations are both historically and geomorphologically interesting.

You can try climbing at one of three locations: Kamenjak, Vela Peša and Vela Draga. The locations Kamenjak and Vela Peša are located northeast of Rijeka. There is also a historical story connected to them, because there are Yugoslav bunkers built in the 30s of the 20th century to defend the borders of that time. The Vela Draga canyon is located within the Učka Nature Park and is adorned with naturally formed limestone towers. This is a unique location, among the most beautiful in Croatia, and since 1998 it has been protected as a geomorphological monument of nature.

The adventure starts at one of the selected locations where you get to know its story and walk 15 to 30 minutes to the climbing area. This is followed by familiarization with the equipment and climbing on the top rope – climbing on a prepared rope. This technique is perfect for beginners because it makes climbing safe, and with guides – completely safe.
Whichever location you choose, you won’t go wrong. A guaranteed experience that you will talk about for a long time.

In case of bad weather, the location is chosen by the guide. In case of extremely unfavorable weather, the organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone the agreed trip.

This is where your historical story begins. On the way to the source, you will stop at interesting and significant locations, and one of the most beautiful is certainly Gašpar’s mill in Martinovo sel. This mill is the only one left of the more than twenty that made up the mill factory of Rijeka in the 19th century and it is still in operation! At the finish line, the source of the Rječina, there will be a break and you will refresh yourself, and the bravest can take a bath. It goes back the same way, and the grand finale of the tour is the descent down the Louisiana road.
