UNESCO Heritage Split & Trogir

Croatia’s second largest city, Split, is famous for the magnificent 4th century Diocletian’s Palace with its ancient cellars, Peristil central square, the once Roman and now Christian temples, cathedral and baptistry, and the Golden Gate.

Trogir, which grew from ancient Tragurion, has a rich history spanning millennia. Must-see sights include the cathedral with Master Radovan’s famous portal, the 15thcentury City lodge, Ćipiko palace and the Benedictine monastery, home to the Greek relief of ‘Kairos’, the god of happy moments.
