New Year’s Eve 2026 – Morcheeba Returns to the Adriatic!
Šibenik will step into 2026 with the legendary British trip-hop band Morcheeba, performing at the square by the UNESCO-protected St. James Cathedral. The tradition of bringing top international artists to Šibenik continues this year, making the city one of the most attractive destinations for a New Year’s Eve celebration on the coast.
Morcheeba, a British band that has thrilled audiences for three decades, has released eleven studio albums, sold millions of records, and performed on the world’s biggest stages. Formed in London in 1995, the band blends elements of trip-hop, alternative rock, R&B, and downtempo. Their first EP, Trigger Hippie, opened the doors to the international scene, while their debut album Who Can You Trust? defined their signature relaxed sound. This was followed by iconic albums Big Calm, Fragments of Freedom, and Charango, featuring unforgettable hits such as Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, The Sea, Undress Me Now, and Part of the Process. Their latest album, Escape The Chaos, showcases their distinctive sound, bold experimentation, and Skye Edwards’ mesmerizing vocals.
The New Year’s concert in Šibenik will present a curated selection of Morcheeba’s repertoire in the unique setting of the square by St. James Cathedral. The band returns nine years after their performance at St. Michael’s Fortress in 2016.
On the second stage in Robert Visiani Park, Matija Cvek will perform with his band The Funkensteins. Cvek, one of the most exciting names on the Croatian pop scene, has released two successful albums: Izbirljivo i slučajno and Vile se ovdje igraju. He began his career with the hit single Visine, followed by pop-funk hits Praviš me ludim and Ptice, with which he won the Zagreb Festival in 2021 and two Porin Awards – for Best Pop Album and Best Male Vocal Performance. With his band, Cvek combines soul, pop, and funk in sold-out concerts across Croatia, preparing an unforgettable celebration for the Šibenik audience. After their performance, the party continues with the DJ duo Djobi Djoba.
The New Year’s Eve celebration in Šibenik is organized by Tvrđava Kulture Šibenik, with the support of the City of Šibenik and the Šibenik Tourist Board.
