Have You Ever Visited Milenij Choco World?

As you stroll along Opatija’s main street, it is hard to miss the charming Amadria Park Hotel Continental, known for its comfortable accommodation and outstanding culinary offerings. However, what many visitors may not yet know is that the hotel is also home to Milenij Choco World – a true paradise for chocolate lovers. Combining tradition, a museum experience and a vibrant chocolate workshop, this is a place where the finest pralines and chocolate delicacies have been handcrafted for 20 years. This milestone will be celebrated in the sweetest possible way during this year’s Chocolate Festival.
How It All Began
Caffè Continental, the oldest café in Opatija, has long been a favourite spot for enjoying coffee, tea and exquisite desserts. With the aim of enriching its sweet offerings, handcrafted chocolate production began in 2006. Eight years later, a dedicated chocolate shop and museum opened, giving rise to Milenij Choco World – a place where chocolate craftsmanship meets tradition, welcoming both hotel guests and outside visitors.
What makes this story truly special is the authentic approach to chocolate making: all chocolates and pralines are handcrafted without gluten, additives or preservatives, with a strong emphasis on the quality of the ingredients. Alongside classic milk, dark and white chocolate, the selection includes irresistible combinations featuring hazelnuts, pistachios, almonds, coconut, chilli, cocoa beans and blueberries.
A special highlight is the range of handcrafted pralines filled with coffee, strawberry, pistachio or champagne – small, carefully crafted treats that are perfect for a personal indulgence or a thoughtful gift. The collection also features imaginative chocolate creations shaped like cats, handbags and high heels.
The Milenij Choco Cake, featuring three types of chocolate cream, and the sumptuous Camellia Cake, created exclusively for the hotel based on an idea by Croatian designer Yasna Skorup Krneta, are two desserts well worth discovering.
Interactive Workshops for All Ages
Chocolate is known for its mood-boosting qualities, and at Milenij ChocoWorld, visitors also have the opportunity to become chocolatiers themselves.
The Choco Play workshop begins with an introduction to the history of chocolate and Milenij Choco World, followed by a guided tasting and a fun flavour-guessing game. The experience continues with a traditional toast served in edible chocolate cups, before ending on a playful note with Choco Crash, an entertaining stress-relieving activity in which participants smash a chocolate slab.
For those with a creative streak, Choco Art Lab offers the chance to decorate and paint their own chocolate, creating a sweet and memorable souvenir from Opatija.
A Special Programme for the Chocolate Festival
From 6 to 8 November, the Chocolate Festival will once again bring chocolate lovers together in Opatija. To mark the occasion, the Milenij Choco World team has prepared a special programme celebrating 20 years of in-house chocolate production.
Visitors can look forward to a selection of 20 pralines, the anniversary edition of Choco Crash – 20th Anniversary Edition, accompanied by the slogan Smash it! Taste it! Enjoy it!, and It’s Choco O’Clock, featuring a surprise dessert, chocolate liqueur and an engaging story about chocolate.
Special workshops for children and adults will also be available, while the offer and programme will be presented at Gervais Centre as well. Places for selected activities are limited, and reservations can be made by calling +385 51 278 028.
