The mountainous and thickly forested Risnjak National Park in Gorski Kotar is a spectacular national park, 71 km from Opatija, offering hiking, sightseeing and fresh alpine air for true nature lovers. Its unspoiled territory is truly an off the beaten track experience, as you’re not likely to encounter other visitors. The park offers a boarding lodge and a mountain lodge just below the 1,418m peak.
